I have been working on establishing: "The Planetarium Projector and Space Museum". Projectors include: Spitz A1, Spitz A3P,Spitz 373, Spitz 512, Spitz STS Prototype, Spitz STP, Minolta Series IIB, Goto S-2, Goto EX-3, Goto Mercury, Goto Venus, Goto Apollo III (E-5), Harmonic Reed Nova III, and a Emmons-HPA projector.
I am an amateur astronomer and also worked at a solar observatory for 10 years. I also worked in television for many years. I am an electronics instrumentation specialist and a ham radio operator (KB6CGZ) and also a hot air balloon pilot as well as fixed wing aircraft. I share my time between Big Bear Lake California and Las Vegas Nevada. I enjoy photography, especially 3-D and collect cameras, antique radios, microphones, microscopes and telescopes. I also enjoy building high voltage Tesla Coils and displays.
Owen, your museum brings back so many memories for me. When I was 12 years old, my parents gave me a Nova Jr. for Christmas. I eventually operated the Spitz STP at the Miami Space Transit Planetarium from the age of 15 - 22. And now I'm the coordinator for the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium in Gainesville, FL (we have a Goto Chronos). I love being in this industry again! Thank you for preserving and restoring our heritage. :)
Hi Owen.
While cleaning out our planetarium storage area, I came across an original and complete copy of a "Preliminary Planetarium Instructional Manual Model A-3-P" published by Spitz Laboratories, dated May 15, 1961. If you would like to have it, send me your address and I can mail it to you.
