Began as a volunteer in my high school planetarium in 1975, then worked at the BCC Planetarium as Techno-Bub from 1979-1990. Old timers might remember the infamous DORK Control System, which spread (like a virus) to 13 other planetariums during that time. Yep, that was mine! By 1983 we had the Spitz 512 automated with an Apple IIe computer and later went on to make a programmable cove lighting system with a few chase capabilities. The highlight of that time for me was the 1987 SEPA conference that lasted seven days and included the presentation of 24 full length planetarium presentations.
Went to the dark side in 1990 with the formation of East Coast Control Systems and now spend a lot of time making pretty colored lights dance around the planetarium.
Besides my planetarium obsession, I also enjoy riding mountain bikes and visiting brew pubs!
