Teaching People to Dream

Greetings,
It's time for a new cove lighting system for our planetarium, specifically an LED system. In our 30 foot diameter dome we've got about 8 inches of available space between the actual dome surface and the cove shelf facade. We are interested in a basic/manual system, preferably with enough "white" light to provide adequate illumination for both walk-in and work applications if need be. Your input to the following questions would be greatly appreciated. Yes, LED cove light vendors are welcome to contact us, too.

What type of LED system do you have and how large is your dome? Describe the electrical properties of your LED system and driver/dimmer units, LED power output and power requirements. Are your cove lights bright enough for work applications in your dome? Is your LED system manually operated or computerized? How much room along the cove shelf do the LED units require? How much console space is needed for the LED operations unit? How long did it take for your lighting system to be installed? Any unforeseen issues with LED installation or operation? Do your LED cove lights accentuate any dome surface imperfections? Any vendor recommendations? Photos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time and your illuminating responses!

Sincerely,
Bob Kelley

DITTO!
Since Lumilines are now about $800 per case of 24, it's time to do something new for our planetarium as well
