Brochure Request!

I am in the process of redesigning our current brochure for the Scobee Planetarium. Wishing to start with fresh ideas for both design and the layout, I’m wondering if folks on this list would mind sharing a copy of their brochures that are provided to public and/or school visitors? If possible, would you mind mailing me a copy? I will gladly reimburse you for postage.

Or, if you’ve got a brochure in electronic form, drop me an email at bkelley@mail.accd.edu

Thanks!

At Civico Planetario "Ulrico Hoepli" in Milan, Italy, we make available for download in PDF format monthly brochures for the public. By the way, people download this stuff like crazy, and we explicitly encourage the public to print the brochures and post them to bulletin boards at schools, cultural institutions, libraries, museums, offices, etc.

You can download a sample brochure in A4 format (2 folds, 3 parts; blue ink on white light cardboard) here, e.g. the november 2008 program:

http://milkyway.comune.milano.it/doc/08/11/planetario11-2008.pdf

If you want to get more, the general URL pattern is:

http://milkyway.comune.milano.it/doc/YY/MM/planetarioMM-YYYY.pdf

The only thing missing on the brochures is a picture of our Zeiss IV projector, which is added by the print shop.

Dear Paolo,
Thank you very much for your reply. Making our brochure available via a PDF file is an excellent idea, plus adding the option to subscribe to the planetarium's schedule by email is an option we will add to our web site.
Grazie mille!
Bob

We also have a mailing list for getting the planetarium's schedule by email, and that's another thing people appreciate very much. We have been getting a steady flow of several daily subscription requests -- even during the summer holidays -- since we started the service half a dozen years ago. In our mailings we also encourage users to download and print our PDF brochures.

Bob, I will be sending you examples of German Planetarium broshures by snail mail... Well, the German text might be a little hard to get, but the layout and design is "international". Best. Volkmar Schorcht
